How Long Does a Brazilian Blowout Last?

·

how long does a brazilian blowout last?

The short answer is 12 to 16 weeks. That said, I have clients whose blowouts still look fresh at four months, and I have seen results fade in six weeks. The difference is almost never the treatment itself. It is what happens at home afterwards.

What decides how long it lasts

Three things, in order of importance:

What normal fading looks like

A Brazilian Blowout does not stop working overnight. Around week ten you will notice a bit more volume at the roots on humid days. By week fourteen or so your natural texture starts coming back, softly and evenly. There is no harsh line, because the treatment is not a chemical straightener. It simply wears off.

Can you stretch it further?

Yes, a little. Sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase, rinse with cooler water, and book an Intense Treatment (R150) somewhere around the halfway mark to keep the hair fed and sealed. Cape Town wind and humidity are rough on hair, and a mid cycle treatment makes a real difference here.

When the smoothness has genuinely gone, you can safely repeat the treatment. There is no forced waiting period with the formaldehyde free formulas we use.
