A pedicure in South Africa costs anywhere from about R150 for a quick tidy up to R450 or more for a full spa pedicure with gel. The spread is big because “pedicure” covers very different services.
The three tiers
- Express pedicure (R150 to R250): shape, buff, cuticle tidy and polish. No soak, no heel work. Perfect maintenance between full pedis.
- Full pedicure (R250 to R380): soak, callus and heel smoothing, cuticle care, massage and polish. This is what most people picture.
- Full pedicure with gel (R300 to R450): everything above, finished in gel colour that stays glossy for weeks instead of days.
Is gel worth the extra?
On toes, honestly, yes. Regular polish on feet chips in shoes within days. Gel toes routinely look perfect for four to six weeks, which makes the extra R80 to R120 good value if you like a lasting finish.
How often should you go?
Every four to six weeks keeps heels smooth and nails healthy. In sandal season many of our Kuils River clients book a full pedi monthly and an express tidy in between. In winter you can stretch it, but do not disappear for six months; that is when ingrown nails and cracked heels build up.
